Thank you so much for sharing it with us. You sound like me. I’ve never given up when I wanted something badly and eventually I get it. But not because it was handed to me, but because I worked hard just like you are doing to get it. You will kill it in the interview. She would not have asked you to come back if she wasn’t impressed by you. Remember that. So the job is yours to take. Remember to just be yourself in the interview, employers what to get to know you as a person, these days it’s so much about fit, and your willingness to learn and work hard. Those components are more critical than “experience” in my book. I’d rather hire someone with less experience but a proven drive and passion because I know that will outshine stale experience any day! So go get it!

I am a recent graduate and although I’m currently working in an entry level desk position..I have applied for over 300 jobs since December. I have had great interviews, but always hear after “You are nice, but you need more relevant experience.”

I interviewed for a company I LOVED back in June. Travel intensive, new industry, small company and nice people. Everything that I prayed for, wrote about consistently, wished to attract.. everything. They told me after the interview, they really liked me but wouldn’t offer me the job, however, they wanted to stay in touch.

As a result, I have emailed the SVP about once a month since then. I have emailed her telling her what I am doing in my current job (as making it relevant to the position I want) and asking if there are new positions open. Last week, when I was really on my most recent feeling of defeat ( I literally got on my knees to God)…the SVP emailed me and asked me to come in for an interview. I am trying to use the LOA to get into the mindset that the job is MINE! Even purposely driving by the office before I head to my job (is that creeper status?! lol)

I’m confident this is my last interview EVER and this job will be everything and more. As you said, consistency, perseverance and passion are a necessity. Please pray for me as I interview next week! I can’t wait to tell you my good news 🙂
